Treat yourself to a special night of tango music and
dancing; and discover the unspoken dialogue of the embrace.
We meet Sunday nights and look
forward to meeting you at any of our regular lessons and socials.
Tango
was a social dance
of humble beginnings that evolved in port cities of the Río de la Plata
(River Plate) back in the late 1800's. Like many other customs, the
tradition and meaning of tango are passed on though generations. The dancing of
tango represents an expression of these feelings; two people, connected by the music and their embrace.
Tango
Milonguero is
one of several styles of tango. It originated in the 1940s in closely
packed dance halls. It
is danced in close embrace, chest-to chest, with the partners leaning
slightly towards each other to allow space for the feet to move.
